The Photoimaging program at the Creative Industries Centre TAFE SA Tea Tree Gully Campus prepares students for diverse careers in the field of commercial photography and associated visual communication industries.
Creative Industries delivers an Advanced Diploma in Photography over two years of full-time study, incorporating the Certificate IV and the Diploma of Photoimaging.
Within the program students learn a range of photographic techniques, including advertising, editorial, industrial, portraiture, still-life, architecture, fashion and illustrative. Through real-life projects, students create imagery for a range of clients, both commercial and domestic.
The program allows the flexibility to specialise in an area of photographic work of the student’s own choice, through an individual study contract. Broadening subjects allow students to enrich their visual communication skills through the
inclusion of graphic design, print-media production, multimedia and digital video production. Business management and its implications on running a successful photographic studio is also a core subject, preparing students to run their (or other photographers') businesses.
This course aims to produce graduates who have a thorough knowledge base of photographic and visual communication skills within an elected field of commercial photography.
