Image for Health Administration

The medical and healthcare service industry is an ever growing industry which is constantly looking for the right administrative staff to support its business operations. We offer a range of medical and health care administration courses which enable students to work within medical and healthcare organisations such as hospitals, health centres, surgeries, and private medical practices.

Our program provides the appropriate administrative and customer service skills to effectively work with patients and other medical and healthcare workers, including those from diverse backgrounds. Our students gain highly valuable health industry specific administration skills including the use of medical terminology, patient record maintenance, the processing of medical accounts, and understanding patient confidentiality, as well as the control of medical supplies. Students also gain skills that can be easily transferred to a number of disciplines. These skills include appointment scheduling and room booking, multi-tasking, and how to effectively manage their time.  The development of Microsoft Office software skills and keyboarding skills are also a key component of the programs.

Studying a Certificate IV in Health Administration provides students with the supervisory skills to support the risk and audit requirements as well as the legal and ethical compliance responsibilities of organisations within the medical and healthcare industry.
