On Monday 2 December the 2013 Traineeship Celebration was held at TAFE SA Adelaide City Campus. This was to celebrate the achievements of public and private sector trainees who had completed Certificates in Business, Business Administration, Business Administration (Medical) and Government.
Christine Medlin, Educational Manager, Business Services opened the program with the Traditional Welcome, and acknowledged all involved in the program for their support. Christine highlighted the importance of the Traineeship Program at TAFE SA, and the significance of preparing students for the workplace.
The audience was then treated to a Guest Speech by Ms Kylie Koch from the Department of Treasury and Finance. Kylie, a past trainee herself, spoke to the group and the graduating trainees about her experience. Kylie shared her initial thoughts and feelings about the Traineeship, and how grateful she was for the Traineeship enabling her to attain her current position, before promoting the program as an excellent way for young people to access employment and studies. Kylie also highlighted that many opportunities arise from completing the TAFE SA Traineeship Program.
All trainees were then given their presentation folders by Kate Kristensen, Lecturer for the program. Closing comments were provided by Brian Rungie, Director - Business Justice and IT. Brian urged the Trainees to remember the ceremony, and remember their experiences. Brian encouraged the Trainees to take every opportunity that came their way, and to take advantage of their situation to further their employment and study options.
