It’s winter and time to hunker down with indoor pursuits. You’re sure to find the perfect diversion with the new Adelaide College of the Arts winter school short courses.
Short, sharp and shiny these courses start from around $120 and are a low risk way to gain new skills, experiment or just get out and get social.
Adelaide College of the Arts Development Manager Bridget Alfred said the winter school is a wonderful way to come and experience one Adelaide’s leading arts spaces.
“Everyone has a creative spark within and with no experience needed for most courses we want to invite people to tap into theirs,” she said.
Courses are taught by top professionals in the fantastic facilities of Adelaide College of the Arts with purpose built dance and acting studios, photographic darkrooms and fashion studios, art and ceramic workshops and current technology.
From old school to new skills, you can learn wet plate photography or how to use your DSLR camera. Master costume making and create a finished design for musical superstar Sia who needs a costume designer for her upcoming musical theatre extravaganza.
Get inspired with a daily dance masterclass led by prominent dance and movement makers including Larissa McGowan, Leigh Warren, Tobiah Booth Remmers, Jo Stones and Katrina Lazaroff.
Reawaken art skills with still life and life-drawing or master ceramic making and watercolour painting techniques. Nail your acting audition with our preparation course, enter the backstage world on a live production and get hands-on with model making and stage design.
Bridget said Adelaide College of the Arts is one of our state’s best kept secrets and encourages Adelaidians ‘come and share our secret’ this winter.
