TAFE SA Adelaide South Institute is committed to excellence in training and skills development through engagement with industry, its stakeholders and its local communities.

In 2009, TAFE SA Adelaide South Institute commenced operations as an independent Registered Training Organisation, though it remains part of a collaborative network of TAFE SA Institutes.

We have a key role in the economic and social development of the state, particularly southern metropolitan Adelaide.

The Institute has over 27,000 students across seven campuses and an annual turnover in excess of $96.9M.

We are one of the three institutes that make up TAFE SA. Our commitments and guarantees are backed up by our State Government. Students who have studied with us in the past have gone on to be industry leaders across many sectors. Current students are continuing to enhance our status in the VET Sector of Australia.

Our philosophy

The Teaching and Learning Charter sets out our approach and philosophy to the provision of vocational education and training.

Teaching and Learning Charter

We are committed to providing a high-quality teaching and learning environment that is student centred, that supports and rewards teaching excellence, and raises the professionalism, visibility and status of teaching & learning throughout TAFE SA Adelaide South Institute.

Our practices are:

  • quality driven for our learners
  • supported by sound educational theory
  • designed for individual and collaborative learning experiences that are underpinned by adaptive and meaningful assessment practices
  • facilitated by professional staff that are both reflective facilitators and reflective practitioners.

Our staff

We aim to foster innovation in teaching and learning practice by creating a learning culture among our staff, a culture that promotes innovation as a core organisational capability.

Our focus for innovation is driven by a commitment to building staff capability that results in improving the quality of products, processes and services that benefit our clients.Our priorities for innovative practices include:
